SERVICES FOR DEFENSE

Sufficient military operational capability is vital both for  military training and operations. An important part of this capability is the availability performance, expressed in terms of availability, sustainability or mission probability.

Systecon has a long experience of stating and achieving the correct availability performance at the lowest possible life cycle cost, especially in the development, acquisition and maintenance of technically complex military systems.

With the support of our world-leading software, we create the right operational and maintenance conditions and find cost-effective trade-offs between built-in reliability and maintainability properties of the technical system on the one hand, and the maintenance system on the other hand. We give suggestions on the most cost effective maintenance organization together with an optimal dimensioning of resources required.

Our work gives our customers – both public authorities and companies - several benefits such as:
  • clear, independent decision-making support at all stages of the life cycle process
  • high availability at the lowest possible lifecycle cost
  • compliance with safety requirements
  •  lower maintenance costs
  • less capital tied up in spare parts and other resources

Our main areas:

Strategic logistics development

  • provide strategic support in the context of major changes in logistics concepts and related IT solutions. We are then also able to engage one or more of our partner companies in various specialized areas, such as IT or SCM.

ILS / LCC in acquisition projects – with customer or supplier perspective

  • analyze and specify the operational safety and maintenance requirements
  • evaluate the reliability/maintainability (R&M) characteristics, life cycle costs and safety
  • review / define the work with reliability/maintainability, maintenance and safety solutions
  • carry out or review systems safety, such as FMECA, for new or problematic subsystems
  • ensure information management in the project
  • verify the R&M properties, maintenance costs and safety
  • define a cost-efficient maintenance solution with the organization, methods and resources

Design of maintenance organization and resources

  • analyze and visualize the capacity requirements of the maintenance organization, for example need for workshops, spares and personnel
  • create a balanced maintenance plan with an evenly distributed maintenance work flow
  • dimension the maintenance resources required
  • optimize the most cost-effective repair strategy based on real operational needs
  • simulate operational service with regard to the maintenance plan and the availability of resources

Contracts with supply solutions focusing OPS / SCM / CLS

  • analyze various possible support concepts and suggest the most suitable solution - everything from spare parts supply to the supply of an entire function, such as flight time.
  • define the contractual commitments with appropriate interfaces and key performance indices (KPI)
  • develop models for the assessment, design, pricing and risk assessment,  using simulation and optimization to analyze alternative solutions
  • find the optimal balance between price, penalty and delivery capabilities

Processes and methodologies for monitoring and continuous improvement (Life Cycle Management)

  • define the relevant follow-up processes
  • identify the information needs
  • develop and implement models for assessment and decision support
  • perform feed-back analyses and identify cost drivers and areas of concern
